Keum-Boo Gold and Fine Silver Earrings
Keum-Boo is the ancient art of attaching gold foil to fine silver. The gold is rolled to an exact thickness to bond to the fine silver.
This is the technique I used to make these elegant earrings. The earrings have been antiqued to a dark black making the gold 'pop' to front and center! The precious metals are hammer textured leaving tiny facets that reflect the light all round. Then they have been slightly domed for even more impact. The backs of these earrings have been burnished to a warm glow with a brushed finish.
The pair hang on handmade sterling silver ear wires and measure 1 3/8" in length total with the each disc being a generous 1" in diameter.
These stunning earrings are completely handmade, original and one of a kind.
